Continuing our innovation and investment programme, work has now started on a significant extension to our food waste facility.
An extra four acres of land will enable direct animal feed recovery and better management of surplus foodstuffs. This will also see a two acre extension to our compost grading, bagging and collection operations.
This will give us a total of 17 acres of food and organics-based recovery and recycling; including confidential destruction, anaerobic digestion and green energy, Mechanical Biological Treatment (MBT), composting and transfer station facilities.
This will also allow us to continue and expand our research and development work with insect proteins and BSF (Black Soldier Fly) farming alongside FERA.
And of course we are adding in a wild area and staff outdoor spaces including a mini allotment to take time out and enjoy fresh food for lunch!
